In Love Game(s)

What a big deal love is! Two games for one show. Two plays. Two actors, one woman, one man.
Two great French writers: Guy de Maupassant (1850-1893) and Jules Renard (1864-1910). Verse and prose.

En-Jeu(x) d'amours

Love, marriage and its corollary divorce. The game, the games, the games of love. We play a dangerous game, a game to frighten each other. Like two swordsmen of love, they provoke each other in a high-flying exercise, they love each other, they prick each other, in two duels, two fencing bouts with sharp foils, and in foil there's a flower! They love each other, trembling, feverish. Will they meet again? Will they miss each other? Next to their loves. With refined writing, lightness and humor, the Marquise and the Comte, Marthe and Pierre marivaud in a cruel game of naturalism. Two moments of pleasure in one evening!
